Terms and Conditions

By applying for membership in the Syrian British Professionals Network (SBPN), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, which are designed to ensure professionalism, transparency, and shared responsibility in the pursuit of the network’s goals:

1. Purpose and Vision
SBPN is a voluntary professional network of Syrian and international experts committed to supporting the sustainable rebuilding of Syria through research, consultation, collaboration, and development across all sectors.

2. Membership Eligibility
Membership is open to professionals, academics, researchers, and skilled individuals who support the mission and goals of SBPN.

Members must provide accurate and truthful information regarding their identity, academic qualifications, and professional experience.

Membership may be subject to verification and approval by the relevant committee.

3. Code of Conduct
Members agree to uphold integrity, respect, professionalism, and collaboration in all interactions within and outside the network.

Discrimination, hate speech, personal attacks, or unprofessional behaviour will not be tolerated.

Members must refrain from speaking or acting on behalf of SBPN without official authorisation.

4. Participation and Contributions
Members are encouraged to actively participate in their specialised groups or committees.

Contributions to research, events, or administrative work may be recognised with points or merit as part of the internal ranking system.

Members agree to respect the decisions of elected bodies and contribute constructively to the work of the network.

5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
All members are expected to treat internal communications, data, and collaborative work with confidentiality.

SBPN will not share members’ personal data with third parties without prior consent, unless legally required.

6. Representation and Public Statements
No member may claim to represent SBPN in any public event, meeting, or media appearance without written authorisation from the Executive Committee.

Unauthorised communication with governments or external bodies on behalf of the network is strictly prohibited.

7. Governance and Internal Structure
Members agree to the organisational structure of SBPN, including the roles of the Founding Committee, Executive Committee, and Department Heads.

Leadership roles are assigned based on merit, contribution, and transparent election mechanisms.

8. Membership Categories
Members are automatically classified based on academic and professional qualifications.
The categories are: Affiliate, Specialist, Expert, Consultant, and Honorary Membership.

9. Voluntary Nature
Membership in SBPN is voluntary and non-remunerated. Contributions are made in the spirit of service to Syria and the community.

Members may withdraw at any time by notifying the membership committee.

10. Termination or Suspension of Membership
The network reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for violations of these terms, after due process and review by the Ethics or Membership Committee.

11. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting your application and joining SBPN, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, and that your membership is a commitment to the collective goals of the network.
