I hold a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. I am a member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I additionally possess a UK PostCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.

With over 20 years of experience as a research associate in molecular biology and biotechnology laboratories, my research primarily focuses on DNA molecular markers and fingerprinting at ICARDA. I have also served as Associate Professor, Head of the Biotechnology Department, and Vice Director of the Biotechnology Centre at Aleppo University.

Since 2016, I have worked at UK universities such as the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Glasgow, where I continue to work today. I have published over 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, authored five books on genetics, molecular genetics, and bioinformatics, and co-authored five books on cell biology, microbiology, and genetic diversity.
